Assam Buddhist Orphanage School [Established in 1964], at the International Brotherhood Mission Buddhist Vihar and Orphanage Ashram located at Dibrugarh City, Assam State, India. The orphanage has over 500 boys and girls from over a dozen linguistic and tribal groups. Monk Veneravle Acharya Karuna Shastri heads it. Probini is providing teachers at the free school.

Bangladesh Ramakrishna Orphanage [1940], Ramakrishna Ashram, Thakurpara, Comilla City, Bangladesh. This boys’ orphanage has about 80 students. Additionally, the ashram provides housing for scores of college students. Probini is providing funding for students to stay at the orphanage and attend school. Professor Shanti Bhowmik is head of the institution. This is the first institution receiving funds, since 1987, from Probini.

Barisal Poor College Student Scholarship is managed by the Ramakrishna Mission [1935], Barisal City, Bangladesh. Ramakrishna Mission has a dormitory for college-going students. Probini is providing loan-scholarship for students to complete their college education. The Mission and the Probini program are managed by monk Swami Akhileshananda.

Calcutta Shishu Kalyan Kendra [Children’s Welfare Center, 1954] Sarsuna is run by the Children’s Welfare Association of Calcutta, India. This girls’ orphanage has over 500 girls living at the center. Probini is providing complete funding for food, housing, clothing, tuition, books, medical, etc. for girls to complete their education. Mrs. Priti Sen is the President while Mrs. Purna Chowdhury is the Honorary General Secretary.

Chittagong Jagatpur Ashram Orphanage School [1898] Rauzan is run by Jagatpur Ashram, Bangladesh. The old ashram is located in the suburb of Chittagong and runs several projects, including a school and a girls’ orphanage. Probini is providing full funding for girls’ living in the dormitory. Mr. Milan Kanti Chowdhury is the Superintendent of the girls’ dormitory and Advocate Mr. Swabhu Prasad Biswas, Esq., is the Executive Secretary of the Ashram.

Dhaka Girls Orphanage School [1908] Farashganj, Dhaka City is run by the Dhaka Orphanage Society [Hindu] of 1908, Bangladesh. Currently the orphanage accommodates over 300 girls and boys at their multistoried orphanage in old Purana Dhaka. Its treasurer is Mr. Chitta Ranjan Majumdar. Probini is providing full funding for girls’ education who living in the dormitory.

Durgapur Swami Vivekananda Bani Prachar Samiti-run slum schools [1988] in Durgapur City, West Bengal State, India. Samiti runs two free schools located at two poor oppressed-caste neighborhoods and one vocational school for older students at its headquarters building at Vidyasagar Sarani [avenue.] Probini is providing teachers in all three schools. Mr. Nirmal Kumar Mandal is Secretary of the organization.

Gandhi Ashram School [1946] at Noakhali is managed by the Gandhi Ashram Trust of Bangladesh. This institution was founded by Gandhiji after his visit to this pogrom-affected area in 1946 in colonial British India. The trust is one of the largest non-governmental organizations in eastern Bangladesh running a number of projects. It now helps over a quarter of million people. Probini is providing full funding for girls’ education. Director of the organization is Ms. Jharna Dhara Chowdhury.

Harijan Palli Sri Ramakrishna Bidyaloy School [1923], Dinajpur City, Bangladesh. This free school at the oppressed-caste Harijan Palli neighborhood is run by the Ramakrishna Mission, Bangladesh. This school was visited by Gandhiji in pre-partition India. Probini is providing teachers at the school. The head of the school is monk Swami Amritatwananda.

Madaripur Pronab Bidya Niketan School [1924], Pranab Asshram, Madaripur city, Bangladesh. Probini is providing teachers at the free school, and has constructed a dormitory that was damaged by Islamists in 1971. The director of the ashram and the head teacher of the school is monk Jibon Maharaj.

Mahilara Ashram Shishu Niketan School is located at Mahilara Mott and Ashram [1740], in Mahilara village, Gour Nodi Police Station of Barisal District, Bangladesh. Shishu Niketan is a free primary and adult school. This reconstituted school in located in an 18th century temple site is headed by monk Brahmachari Dayamoy Chaitanya Maharaj. Probini members have built a sturdy brick-and-concrete Nihar Kana Bhaktabash school at the ashram. The new school-cum-monk residence was dedicated to the community in June 2001.

Netrokona Nayan Shadur Ashram School [1975], is run by Manab-kalyankami Anathaloy [Orphanage for the improvement of the humankind], Chandigarh village, Durgapur Police Station, Netrokona [former Mymansingh] district, Bangladesh. Probini has provided funds for economic self-sufficiency through agriculture projects. It is providing funds for teacher salary at the free school as well. The project is run by its founder monk Nayan Goswami or Nayan Sadhu [monk].

SriRamKathi Pranavananda Shishu (Children's) BidyaNiketan (Abode of Learning), BS 1344(1938), Bhimkathi Village, Nazirpur Upazila sub-district, Pirojpur district, Bangladesh. We have constructed a Probini school building and are providing teachers at the free school.
